The jeans are one of several pairs she wore of selvage denim from Foremost JCP Co. a division of J.C. Penny. These are some of the first Sanforized jeans, guarenteed to suffer minimal shrinkage. This innovation came in handy as Marilyn spent a lot of this movie soaked to the skin after having hundreds of gallons of water flung at her. Around this time she told Movieland, “I buy boy’s jeans because they’re long waisted like me; and boy’s shirts go with them.”
